What ARE botulinum Toxins?

A highly purified protein derived from Botulinum Toxin Type A, which is used in the manufacture of neurotoxin injections that can smoothen and soften frown lines and wrinkles temporarily. 

How do botulinum toxins work?

Our doctors will inject small amounts of refined Botulinum Toxin along specific spots to the patient’s face, according to the type of treatment required. The controlled amounts of the purified neurotoxin will target the repeated muscle contractions, which are the root cause of frown lines, crow’s feet and lip lines, and relax them temporarily. The result? A visibly smoother appearance that can make you appear younger.

Acclaro uses only FDA-approved, established brands such as BOTOX® Cosmetic and DYSPORT® to treat the following:

  • Forehead – Both forehead wrinkles, as well as the frown furrows that form between the eyebrows (glabellar lines), can be visibly lessened over a short period of time through carefully administered Botox injections.

  • Crow’s Feet – Amongst some of the most common wrinkles to form, they are also known as dynamic wrinkles because they appear when you contract muscles in your face (for example when you smile, wink or squint). By temporarily reducing the activity of those muscles, there is a reduction in the appearance of those lines.

  • Frown lines - Frown lines and wrinkles can be caused by factors such as aging, sun exposure, loss of collagen and constant muscle contraction over the years from frowning and squinting. Botox injections applied to specific muscle areas can help relax these muscles and visibly reduce the intensity of the frown lines over a short period of time.

  • Masseters - The main muscles used for chewing that are situated around your jaw. Targeted injections around the jaw area can cause the masseters to relax temporarily, which gives rise to the appearance of a slimmer visage, and softens the angle of the jaw 

  • Chin Dimples – By causing the mentalis muscles to relax, injectables such as Botox can temporarily lessen the visibility of the dimples

  • Gummy Smile – Botox injected into specific areas in the muscles of the upper lip can temporarily relax them, reducing the gingival display (area of gum visible between upper lip and upper teeth).

  • Bunny lines – Small wrinkles that appear on both sides of the nose that tend to be most visible when a person smiles or crinkles their nose. By causing the muscles to relax, Botox injected into specific muscles along the targeted area can lessen the visibility of the wrinkles by relaxing the muscles and reducing their activity temporarily.

Why CHOOse botulinum toxins?

It’s a relatively easy procedure with minimal downtime (recovery time after application), making it an ideal lunchtime procedure as you can resume most normal activities immediately after leaving the clinic. The actual injection process may take only 10-15 minutes, depending on the chosen treatment. Botox results are not immediately visible but results may be seen within as quickly as 24 to 48 hours, or make take up to a couple of weeks for moderate to severe frown lines and the resulting effects can last up to 4 months.
