WHAT ARE CROWNS AND VENEERS?

Crowns and veneers can be used to whiten or even realign teeth in adults. For patients who do not have the time, or if braces are not an option due to either business or social commitments, crown and veneers are an option that gives an instant result. Depending on the extent of improvement required, some or all of the teeth can be covered in order to achieve the desired look.

Symmetry and harmony are important in achieving good results and this is only possible with an experienced eye and skilled know-how by a trained dentist. Ideally, teeth and gum lines should be positioned roughly parallel to the line between the eyes, the jaw line and the horizontal plane and should follow the curvature of the lower lip. Teeth should also be balanced on both sides of the face should ideally coincide with the midline of the face. Gum health, contours and the amount shown when smiling are also important, all of this is taken into consideration by our dentists when they work with with our patients on fitting their crowns and/or veneers.
